Every year there's a mad scramble for power plugs during the lunch break...
How about combining the device charging stations with a cloakroom? Check in your bag and plug in your laptop, then scoot off to a session unencumbered. Security would be an issue I guess.
Alternatively some powerboards in the theatres would help keep people running. I've seen cords with single plugs spaced 1m apart, a few of those along the rows would probably work.
Power at the conference center is just un-heard of, age of building I suspect. A charging cloak stand with a volunteer manning it would be cool.
Plugs would have to be gaffer tapped down, but still a good idea.
Next you'll want full wifi. :)

this must partly be messaging - each year we've had banks of power boards available.
Will try harder (but also note their are all kinds of OH&S requirements to be met in this regards as to where they can be put - for instance a huge challenge in theatres)
